On 24 June 2022, Jakajima organises the Additive Manufacturing Climate Action Conference during the 3D Delta Week. Jakajima, Matchmaker for Innovators has been organiser/initiator of many conferences and events globally, ranging from 3D Printing to Internet of Things, from unmanned cargo aircraft to sustainability, from 4D printing to photonics, from vertical farming to 3D food printing and from sustainability/ recycling to green energy. With the Additive Manufacturing Climate Action Conference, the organisation is now focusing on sustainability and the reduction of environmental impact in the manufacturing industry. In order to boost sustainability and climate protection itself, the AMCA conference will be held online.
What is AMCA about?
Nowadays, any manufacturing process has to aim at generating less waste and lowering its environmental impact. Additive Manufacturing has great potential in reducing the need for energy- and resource-intensive manufacturing processes. It also has the advantage of producing less material waste than, for instance, subtractive technologies and has the benefit of cost-effectively fabricating objects on-demand. The path towards sustainable products and production requires significant changes throughout several value chains, impacting product design, material use, production processes, business models, and waste management. The AMCA conference covers the different steps to be taken by the players in the value chain to achieve this:
- A change in mindset
- Involve the whole value chain in the product creation process (from design to recycling)
- Life Cycle Assessment
- Use of Bio Based Materials
- Implementing (chemical) recycling in the AM value chain
Additionally, relevant use cases will be presented.
